“Connection In Orbit” Sweatshirt

Lithographic print made by transferring an original drawing on paper onto a metal surface that has been chemically treated. The ink adheres to the design, but not the water-covered areas. The last step transfers the image onto paper by running it through a printing press.  

The design is based on a theory of a red string that may stretch or tangle, but never break. This cord ties together people who are destined to meet. The two figures are orbiting around, connected. The stipled dots represent the noise that surrounds us in everyday life making it hard to find or feel this connection to the people you love. However, it is always there. The figures, while floating, are grounded by the string, keeping them together.
